Novalda Participatory Video offers students the opportunity to explore aspects of their curriculum, through: Creating; Directing; Filming; Editing; and Sharing; their films in their voice.
Process:
• Rapidly learn to use video equipment through games and exercises;
• Explore an aspect of the curriculum through experiential exercises;
• Learn to storyboard, direct and video short films;
• Experience a dynamic process of group-led learning, sharing and exchange;
• Edit films through feedback and paper logging, with Novalda making final edits based on participants direction; and
• Share the final edited film with others.
Product:
• 1-3 minute films that share students key ‘learnings’ from aspects of their curriculum.
Outcomes:
• Understand and demonstrate competence in using Information Technologies through handling video and sound equipment, filming, and playback;
• Understand and appreciate the arts and the creative process through story-boarding, performing in-front of camera, directing, filming, and editing;
• Have explored an aspect of the curriculum through the PV process, focusing on either language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, or art; and
• Have worked and communicated effectively to share key 'learnings' through final film.

In School Professional Development: Train to facilitate the Participatory Video process with students and others.
Custom-made workshops: One to five days long.
