ART INSTRUCTION

I have taught art to children from K-12.  I teach art to adults, special needs groups; at-risk-youth, clients at the Mustard Seed, seniors in nursing homes and patients in rehabilitation hospitals.

I am motivated and passionate about working with all age groups and attempt to cultivate inspiration.

I have taught art in the following media: pencil sketching, pastels, watercolours, acrylics, silk painting and photography.

I have implemented projects to work in conjunction with school curriculums.  The children and I have worked on art projects for causes they feel passionate about.  I have designed creative and fun after-school art classes in my community.

I have taught teachers pencil sketching and pastel courses of 8 weeks.

Following quote is from Barb James, Principal at Acadia School:

"Norene's enthusiasm is infectious!  She takes the most reluctant participant and encourages them to just try.  She models good teaching by really concentrating on the learning needs of the individual.  Norene was complete in all of her preparations bringing any necessary supplies.  Her flexibility and accommodations truly "tailor fit" her sessions to our needs."

I attempt to share that we can apply our creativity to many aspects of daily life.
