Writing and Publishing Your Children’s Novel

In these two hour sessions, we will examine the many aspects involved in writing and publishing a children's novel.

Session one details my own experiences getting started as a writer of novels for young readers and the subsequent path to publication. We will take a look at the writing process from initial concept through to the finished manuscript, including how to turn ideas into stories, the creation of outlines and the importance of editing and revision. We will also discuss ways to research which publishers to submit your work to and there will be ample time for questions from the audience.

Session two examines marketing and promotion for authors, dealing with the media, book launches, promotional events, securing speaking engagements and so on, as well as delving deeper into the publishing world.
